There are a number of muscles in the lower half of the body which hold the abdominal contents in place. If one of those muscles becomes weak or develops a hole, one of the abdominal organs like intestines can push through the muscle. If this occurs in the groin area, it is called an Inguinal Hernia. This condition may cause a lump or bulge, pain, swelling and even burning in the area. In severe cases, the hernia can become "strangulated" and lead to an emergency situation. The person may have nausea, vomiting, severe pain and fever. Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair
